The Allosun EM415Pro is a short circuit and cable break detector designed to locate electrical faults in vehicle electrical systems. This diagnostic tool operates within 6V to 42V direct current (DC) circuits, making it suitable for cars, commercial vehicles, and heavy equipment. The system consists of a separate transmitter and receiver. The receiver is equipped with a flexible probe, allowing technicians to trace wires and test circuits without damaging wire insulation or unnecessarily removing components.
When diagnosing a fault, the technician connects the transmitter in series with the suspect circuit. The transmitter then generates a high-frequency signal that travels through the wiring. The user moves the flexible antenna of the receiver along the wiring harness to follow the audio signal. Once the probe passes the location of a cable break, the sound signal stops, marking the exact break point. To locate a ground short, voltage loss is detected by monitoring the signal pattern. The transmitter also features a continuity mode (CONT) with visual LED feedback, allowing basic circuit continuity to be verified beforehand.

- Continuity testing: Performing a basic check of circuit closure using CONT mode. An LED indicator confirms wire integrity for further measurements.

Good to know: When searching for short circuits or broken wires, always disconnect the circuit under test from the main power supply. If the circuit remains live or is inadvertently connected to electronic control modules such as ECUs, this can not only interfere with the transmitter signal, but in rare cases also damage sensitive vehicle electronics.
