The jaltest reading equipment has certainly been a good investment for me. Reading vehicles right up to viewing wiring diagrams. Everything a mechanic needs is on it. A bit on the expensive side but it does what it's supposed to do!

The Jaltest CV is a comprehensive diagnostic system for commercial vehicles: A carry case containing the Jaltest Link V9, the interface unit you connect to the vehicle's diagnostic socket, and the software that runs on your own laptop.
With it, you can access the control units of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, buses and vans—the coverage page lists 70 truck makes, 73 bus manufacturers and 45 van brands, plus 36 component suppliers—and three times a year a new software update arrives, adding further brands, models and systems.
This package includes everything required for diagnostics compliance: The Link, the software activation and the software licence for year one.We activate the module within one working day on the serial number from the supplied Link; you don't need to submit anything yourself. A laptop and brand-specific cables you sort out yourself.\n
KEY FEATURES
KEY POINTS
What's in the box
The case contains the hardware you use to establish the connection, plus the software rights that unlock the CV module. The hardware is identical to the standalone set 70001052; the difference between diagnostic tools lies in the software module, not the case. Below, you'll find details of each component and its reference number.
Hardware
- Jaltest Link V9 (70001015): The diagnostic interface you connect to the vehicle's diagnostic socket, with 26-pin DB26 to the cable and USB-C to the PC.
- Multipin Kit (70002001): Twenty JTP01 to JTP10 multipins in blue and yellow, the JTP101 connection cable and two power cables — JDC10AM2 with battery clamps and JDC20AM2 for the cigarette lighter socket. These allow you to connect directly to a connector that has no dedicated diagnostic cable.
- OBD cable, 16-pin (JDC213.9): The standard cable for the regular diagnostic connection.
- USB-C cable (JDC107.9B): The connection between the Link and your laptop.

Anlaptop and the manufacturer-specific cables do not belong here. See Cables and computer further down this page.
For which vehicles and systems
Jaltest CV covers four main categories —commercial vehicles, trailers, buses and commercial vehicles. A brand in the list means that there coverage is, not that each Jaltest CV (Commercial Vehicles) Diagnostic Reader and year of manufacture is fully supported. The layout by continents refers to the country where the brand originates, not the current owner.
Commercial vehicles
Well-known brands below the commercial vehicles in the coverage of Jaltest CV: DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo.
All 70 truck manufacturers, broken down by region:
Trailers
For trailers, Jaltest focuses on the braking system manufacturer rather than the trailer builder. If you search for Krone or Schmitz, you won't find them listed separately: coverage operates through Bendix, Cojali, Haldex, Knorr-Bremse and Wabco.
Buses
Leading manufacturers under the buses in the coverage of Jaltest CV: Irizar, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Setra, Van Hool, VDL and Volvo.
All 73 commercial vehicle brands, split by continent:
Commercial Vehicles
Well-known brands under the commercial vehicles in the coverage from Jaltest CVCitroën, Fiat, Ford, Iveco, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Peugeot, Renault and Volkswagen.
All45 commercial vehicle brands, split by continent:
European includes United Kingdom, Turkey and Russia. Chinese is listed separately from Asian, which includes Japan, South Korea, India and Taiwan. Under Other are brands from Australia and Africa, plus a few manufacturers whose origin could not be determined.
Vehicle systems
- Drivetrain: Engine, gearbox and exhaust aftertreatment, with the Antipollution group in the software including SCR and AdBlue.
- Brakes and chassis: Service brake, auxiliary brakes, air pressure preparation, suspension, steering and chassis module.
- Electronics and comfort: Main computer, electronic modules, instrument cluster, lighting, climate control, heating, display, audio and immobiliser.
- Safety: The Safety group, with emergency brake assistance and lane keeping assist. There is no separate ESP section.
- Recording: The Data registration group, telematics and FMS, which also includes the tachograph.
Search by component rather than by vehicle
If the same system is fitted to multiple brands, you can find it by the component rather than by the vehicle. This is useful for a brake or ABS system supplied by dozens of manufacturers will be installed.
- Brakes, ABS and EBS:Knorr-Bremse, Wabco, Meritor Wabco, Bendix, Haldex, Cojali and International.
- Driving assistance and safety:Wabco, Meritor Wabco, Bendix and Eaton.
- Suspension and tyre pressure:Wabco, Meritor Wabco, Bendix and Dana.
- Gearbox and retarder:ZF, ZF Meritor, Allison, Eaton, Voith, Twin Disc, Paccar, Navistar, Isuzu and GM.
- Engines: Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel-MBE, Paccar, Mack, Volvo, Iveco-FPT, Hino, Isuzu, Navistar, MWM, Kamaz, FAW, Weichai, Yuchai, VM Motori and PSI.
- Refrigerated Transport:Thermo King and Carrier, with units for trailers and commercial vehicles.
What you can do with it
With the Commercial Vehicle Modulereads you theengine control units from the vehicle, you follow measurement values and send components on. You'll also find the maintenance work with it as the software requests: The soot filter, the fuel injectors, the calibrations and the maintenance technicians.
Diagnose
- Read fault codes:The fault memory of the control module, with information about the codes.
- Measured values:The values of the connected sensors displayed on screen.
- Activate Components:Operate individual components to verify their functionality.
- ECU data: Serial number, software version and other control unit information.
- Parameters and calibrations: Configure control units and adjust systems.
Maintenance
- Diesel particulate filter (DPF): Force regeneration and register after replacement.
- Cylinder cut-off test: Disable cylinders individually to assess engine running.
- Injector coding: Register new injectors in the engine control unit.
- Component calibration: Recalibrate after replacement.
- Service counters: Reset after servicing.
The difference with expert mode
Standard diagnostics involves reading, measuring and actuation. In expert mode you additionally modify parameters in the control units: calibrating sensors and actuators, adjusting operating parameters and regenerating the diesel particulate filter. This mode is included.
Cables and computer
The kit includes the 16-pin OBD cable for the standard connector. If the vehicle has a manufacturer-specific connector, then there is a separate cable for it; these cables can be obtained individually and are bundled together in three cable sets. The software itself runs on a Windows PC.
- Trucks and buses (29362): Cables for Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and MTU, Wabco braking systems, Renault, Iveco, the MAN TG series, DAF and MAN with 37-pin connector.
- Trailers (70002024): Cables for Wabco and Knorr-Bremse, for Haldex EB+/TRS and TPMS, and for trailer-CAN to ISO 7638-1.
- Refrigeration units (29989): Cables for Thermo King and Carrier, and for Carrier CAN.
- Individual cables: Also available separately when you only service one brand in your workshop.
- Computer: The software runs on Windows. Cojali supplies the Jaltest Rugged PC and the A140 Rugged PAD; both are listed separately in our webshop.
The correct cable for your vehicle is determined by the diagnostic connector in that vehicle and not by the brand on the grille. Check the connector on the vehicle itself before ordering: If it is the 16-pin OBD2 connector, then the supplied JDC213.9 is sufficient; if it is a manufacturer-specific connector, then the corresponding cable is included in one of the three cable sets.
Licence and renewal
The software licence runs for twelve months from the activation and is then renewed annually with the update licence (29051). As long as the licence is active, you receive all new software versions and retain access to technical information.
- Renewal: Annually, with the update licence (29051), each time for a further twelve months.
- Validity period: Twelve months from activation.
- Installations: Maximum of five PCs. Jaltest hardware is always required to run the software.
- Registration: At activation, after each new software version, and thereafter every six months.
- Add additional modules: A module purchased later is aligned with your current licence; you pay on a pro-rata basis.
- No renewal: Diagnostics will continue to work on the last installed version, but access to technical information will cease. Cojali continues to support an expired licence for one further year.
Optional add-ons
In addition to the CV module there are add-ons which you can purchase separately. They are not required to diagnose, but extend the reference library, the technical support or the diagnostic tools. Below is what is included for commercial vehicles.
- INFO Plus CV (70605005): The SMART Guides and wiring diagrams for the complete vehicle.
- INFO Web CV: The same reference material via a web platform, available monthly or annually.
- OEM RMI: The official manufacturer repair information, per brand for Iveco, DAF and Scania.
