The OBDSTAR CAN Direct Kit is the cable set that allows you to bypass the gateway module. Modern vehicles place a gateway between the OBD port and the rest of the network to shield traffic; this prevents you from accessing control modules via the diagnostic connector. This kit provides direct access to the CAN-bus.
The primary application is proximity key programming for 4A and 8A keys, with complimentary PIN code extraction and support for all keys lost scenarios. The kit features a modular design, allowing you to connect additional ECU cables; the supplied Toyota-24 and Toyota-27 cables cover the standard connections on Toyota and Lexus vehicles from 2018 to 2021.

The gateway and key type determine compatibility, not the model alone.OBDSTAR specifies Toyota and Lexus models from 2018 to 2021.
- Toyota:Corolla in multiple variants, Levin, Allion, Livin, Camry, C-HR, Izoa, Prius, Highlander, RAV4, Avalon, Crown, Vellfire, Alphard, Prado and Land Cruiser.
- Lexus:ES, UX, RX, RX450h, LC and LS.
What else you will need
The cable set does not work independently.Below is what else you require.
- An OBDSTAR device with key programming capability:The device that programmes the key and reads the data.
- The correct key type:Determine in advance whether it is 4A, 8A-A8, 8A-A9 or 8A-AA; this determines whether you use the Toyota-24 or Toyota-27.
- Optionally the CAN Jumper:OBDSTAR supplies this as an optional cable; it is not included in this kit.
