Deze verloopkabel verbindt de 9-pins Select Monitor-aansluiting van oudere Subaru-personenauto's met een uitleesapparaat met 16-pins OBD2-stekker. Bij de SVX zit deze gele aansluiting in het zijpaneel van de voetenruimte aan de bestuurderszijde, samen met andere diagnosestekkers.
Via deze aansluiting communiceert een tester met de motorregeling en de automaatregeling. Met de kabel gebruikt u daarvoor uw bestaande apparaat. U leest en wist foutcodes en bekijkt meetwaarden. De kabel zet de aansluiting alleen fysiek om. Het uitleesapparaat moet zelf het Subaru Select Monitor-protocol (SSM) ondersteunen.
