Deze verloopkabel verbindt de 6-pins Deutsch-aansluiting volgens SAE J1708 met een uitleesapparaat met een 16-pins OBD2-stekker. Deze diagnoseaansluiting zit in de cabine en was van ongeveer 1996 tot 2001 de standaard bij zware vrachtwagens.
Via de J1708-datalijn met het J1587-protocol leest u met uw eigen uitleesapparaat foutcodes en live data van de motor en andere systemen. De kabel zet de aansluiting alleen fysiek om. Het uitleesapparaat moet zelf J1708-diagnose ondersteunen en geschikt zijn voor de boordspanning van het voertuig.
