The VT01704 is a 10-piece timing set for 1.4L and 1.6L Prince petrol engines — used in models of BMW, MINI, Citroën and Peugeot. Essential when replacing the timing chain, adjusting valve timing, or performing other engine repairs.

The set includes a camshaft locking tool, a crankshaft locking pin and a timing chain tensioner. These components ensure precise alignment — essential for engine performance and longevity. Supplied in a sturdy storage case for transport and storage.

✕Prince engines interference engine — incorrect timing damages valves.

Application and Functionality

  • Camshaft locking: Locks the intake and exhaust camshafts in the correct timing position.
  • Crankshaft locking: Crankshaft locking pin via the flywheel on the TDC of cylinder 1.
  • Timing chain tensioning: Locking tool that presses and secures the hydraulic timing chain tensioner during installation and removal.
