The VT18190D is an 11-piece timing set for the 2.0 Ingenium diesel engine from Jaguar and Land Rover. With this set you lock the crankshaft and camshafts when working on the timing drive, such as replacing the timing chain, the chain tensioner or the cylinder head gasket.

The set includes a crankshaft pulley locking tool (OEM 303-1630), a camshaft setting and holding tool (303-1631), a camshaft locking tool (303-1625) and a fuel pump locking and removal tool (303-1627), together with the corresponding bolts. Everything is supplied in a storage case.

How to use it

  1. Preparing the system: Depressurise the fuel system and remove the covers.
  2. Turning the crankshaft into position: Turn the engine in the direction of rotation to the setting position.
  3. Locking the crankshaft: Fit the locking tool to the crankshaft pulley.
  4. Locking the camshafts and pump: Fit the camshaft tools and the pump tool.
  5. Carrying out and checking the work: Complete the work, remove the tools and turn the engine through two strokes to check.

Good to know: When working on the chain, also secure the fuel pump with the pump tool. If the pump sprocket is turned, the pump timing must be set again.
